Clinical Trial with Tinidazole in Intestinal Amebiasis

Abstract
|
|
|
Sixteen cases of intestinal amebiasis (11 males and 5 females) were included in the trial.
All cases were treated with Tinidazole (1 to 2 cures). One cure with Tinidazole was 20mg per kilogram of body weight per day for 5 days.
Clinical responses to the treatment with Tinidazole showed effective rate of 75 percent (12 of 16 cases), clinical improvement of 3 cases, and 1 case with worse clinical course.
Side effect was mild nausea which occured in 3 cases (18.7 per cent).
